I wanted to pursue a similar line of thought in navigating how culture impacts watchmaking. More precisely, what makes German watches German and where is German watchmaking headed? Fortunately, Esperluxe friends Christine Hutter at Moritz Grossmann as well as Ev and Stefan Kudoke from their eponymous brand lended a hand. Read MoreOn the surface, many readers will already be somewhat familiar with Rexhep's story. As a Kosovar-Albanian, he came to Switzerland at the young age of 12 and went directly into a watchmaking apprenticeship at Patek Philippe. With raw talent and determination, he paved onward to work with F.P. Journe before launching his own brand, AkriviA, in 2012.

Read MoreThe long and short is, NFT’s could be spectacular for the watch industry and watch community, but to get there, the industry will have to retool how it thinks about the technology and its value. More than anything with this article, I want to push the industry to think more creatively about what types of NFT’s might create hits in the watch community. Before we get into that, let’s just cover the basics.
Read MoreIn 2021, the LM101 series evolves with technically and aesthetically-upgraded versions distinguished by colourful dial plates, including a stainless steel version. What we didn’t expect to learn though; the origins of AHCI are directly connected to how modern luxury watchmaking came to be defined by high complications in the fallout of the Quartz Crisis. The story of the evolution, or revolution, in fine watchmaking revolves round independent watchmakers.
