For Geneva Watch Days 2024, Angelus introduces a new shade of its self-winding chronograph with peripheral date – this is the all-new Chronodate Titanium, Magnetic Silver Edition. Chronodate welcomes the silver-gray colorway in a tone-on-tone effect. The harmonious blend between titanium case, titanium bracelet or black rubber strap, rhodium-plated hands and the dial surface creates a technical monochrome impression. This gray continues into black, revealing the movement container and then the carbon composite push-pieces. This black ensemble culminates in the two counters, one a 30-minute chronograph totaliser and the other with a small seconds.

From the lugs, movement architecture, color palette, and case shape, collectors will clearly see a connection between the historical timepiece and the aesthetic of its modern siblings. Nods to the vintage timepiece carry over to this modernized timepiece, especially in the date indication on the chapter ring, bicompax subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock, and applied Arabic numerals.

Sporting the in-house Caliber A-500, the movement is housed in a beautiful, aesthetically modern case. It features the small seconds at 9 o’clock and a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock. A peripheral pointer date hand travels around the dial. Operating at a rate of 4 Hz, the movement incorporates a column wheel and a horizontal clutch to reduce its thickness. Its self-winding system operates by means of an oscillating weight with a design taken from the brand’s archives: a capital letter “A” reminiscent of a bell – an allusion to the early days of Angelus, right at the heart of the mechanism.

Angelus has designed a complex case with six main components that brings the case middle and lugs into a single line and houses the bezel marked with twelve notches. Coupled with carbon composite pushers, the Chronodate is a masterful redux of the brand's classic chronograph.
