Akrivia AK-02 Heure Minute Esper Bleu
Akrivia AK-02 Heure Minute Esper Bleu
Our Take
There is no watchmaker or brand that can physically demonstrate our love and passion of artisanal watchmaking better than Rexhep Rexhepi of Akrivia—a long time acquaintance, friend and now partner.
The Akrivia Ak-02 Esper Bleu kick starts our first collaboration with Akrivia. This unique 1/1 piece features a dial that is hand-hammered at first then thermally treated and finished with a galvanic bath to achieve a unique blue color. The hand-hammering technique is an ancient method of decorating metal that traces back centuries. It involves nicking grooves with a hammer and a very fine chisel by the artisan in a series of repetitive motions to create a textured surface that is flawed to perfection.
The workmanship of the blue hammered dial alone requires hours of unmatched concentration to obtain a result worthy of AkriviA’s standards.
The watch displays hours, minutes and seconds thanks to the sixty-second tourbillon and oscillates at 21’600 v/h with one hundred hours of reserve.
The decoration of the movement as well as the dial is done by hand and is simply sublime. The AK-02 features over 36 inward angles, black mirror polishing, côte de Genève decoration, hand burnishing, and rhodium finishing.
It’s a privilege and an honor to have Akrivia as one of our partner brands at EsperLuxe, bringing you the best that artisan watchmaking has to offer.

From the Source
Rexhep Rexhepi was born in 1987 in a very small agrarian village, called Zheger, situated on the Karadak River in Kosovo. During his childhood, his father had to move to Switzerland for work, but every time he would come home, Rexhep would try to steal his Swiss watch to open it, which was the beginning of his horological passion. It was only several years later that Rexhep and his brother Xhevdet were able to join their father in Geneva.
After completing his apprenticeship at Patek Philippe, he continued working there for two years. Later he worked at BNB Concept as a watchmaker. Within a period of a year, he became the atelier manager; he was leading a group of 15 watchmakers in the complications department at only twenty-one years old. After three years at BNB Concept, he went on to work at F.P. Journe’s atelier, where he assembled various watches from the Chronomètre Souverain to the Chronomètre Resonance.
It was in 2012 that decided to create his own atelier under the name AkriviA. “The idea had been in the back of my mind since my studies at Patek. I had the choice between doing the same kinds of operations on watches day in and day out, or take on the challenge of creating my own watches and accepting all the risks involved. In the end, it turned out to be the best choice I ever made.”
