When it comes to exotic mineral stone dials, it can be tricky to execute in complicated mechanical watches without overwhelming the look and design of the watch. Luckily the team at Arnold and Son knows what the hell they’re doing. Enter the HM Perpetual Moon Aventurine, one of Arnold and Son’s Baselworld 2019 releases and an absolute stunner at that. The HM Perpetual Moon Aventurine features a blue aventurine quartz dial that one could say resembles the space and stars in which a crescent cutout at 12 o’clock reveals a guilloché moon phase disc. Unto that disc is a hand engraved 18k red gold moon. Yes it’s very pretty, but what about the mechanics and finishing you ask? Well, Arnold and Son drew inspiration from its British roots and expertise in astronomical complications. It created an in-house caliber featuring a precision moon phase that deviates only one day every 122 years! Turn over the watch and you can see a secondary moon phase for the easy to set feature.
