In line with Akrivia’s spirit— known for championing traditional artisanal methods of watchmaking, the hand-hammering technique is an ancient method of decorating metal that can be traced back centuries. It incorporates grooves that are nicked with a hammer and a very fine chisel by the artisan in a series of repetitive motions to achieve a textured surface that is flawed to perfection.

The unique AK-02 dial is hand-hammered at first then treated thermally to achieve a deep blue color. The workmanship of the blue hammered dial—a product of Akrivia’s new old-town atelier in Geneva—requires over 25 hours of work with unmatched concentration to obtain a result worthy of founder Rexhep Rexhepi’s standards.

The manually wound caliber of the tourbillon Heure Minute oscillates at 21’600 v/h, has one barrel with one hundred hours of full autonomy. The tourbillon weighs in at 0.45 g and features a Swiss anchor escapement.

The timepiece displays hours, minutes and seconds thanks to the sixty-second tourbillon. The decoration and finishing of the movement as well as the dial is all done by hand. The AK-02 features over 36 inward angles with bombé style beveling, black mirror polishing, traditional Côte de Genève decoration and rhodium finishing.
